This video I posted in 2011 is my favorite Reagan clip, but here’s a video that also is very much worth watching.
And even though these words weren’t uttered on July 4, what he says is quite appropriate for Independence Day.

When it comes to philosophy, I feel closest to Coolidge and Reagan amongst xx century US Presidents.
However I have a soft spot for Truman, since I fear that, without him, we’d all be speaking Russian.
Yes, his instincts were New Deal, but a Republican Congress led him to do the right thing, as in the case of Clinton. Except that Clinton was afraid to take on Serbia and the Somali warlords, let alone the Soviet Union.
