I’ve repeatedly said that Michael Ramirez is a good political cartoonist (see here, here, here, here, here, and here), and he’s proved his worth in this cartoon that cleverly mocks the cavalier attitude that statists have about America’s founding principles.
And here are two more Ramirez cartoons, including one that also uses the theme of Obama vs the Founding Fathers.
Finally, for those who want some analysis of why schemes like Obamacare are inconsistent with the Constitution, here’s some good analysis by Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Philip Klein and Damon Root, and yours truly.

Well folks, it’s simple. When the community shows up at your doorstep and says “pay for our health insurance”, you just pay. If you don’t, then we’ll seize your family’s assets, and if you resist that too, we’ll take you by force to prison for a decade or so.
We don’t ever give up, we just escalate until we get what we want. If you want to resist and have us confine you to ten years in prison, that is your choice. You should just be happy that we no longer drag intransigent people like you to the guillotine, like we used to.
So the bottom line is that the opportunity to gang up on you and have you pay for our health care costs is just TOO good to pass up. So, if some two centuries old document is putting up some petty technical obstacles to that, we’ll simply ignore it or throw it in the trash. We are the people, we are the majority, we rule. If we say pull your pants down, you just do so. If we say this money of yours is not for your children but for our children’s healthcare and ours, then you just give it to us, or else…
Yes, yes, I know, what goes around comes around, but heck, we’ll deal with that when and if it does come around. For now, we’re just one final hairline away from finally making you pay for our healthcare — the chance is now – yes we can!
It’s basically compassion. Yes, it’s mandatory, but that is a small detail, don’t dwell on it, get on board, or we will make you do so by force. Remember, we’re the people. When faced with resistance from ideological minorities we never give up. We only escalate. You want to end up shackled? It’s your choice.
Welcome to Europe, where our bill of rights is mostly a list of obligations – and paying for our healthcare is just one of your new obligations. Follow us, and you will prosper.
