I’ve shared some bizarre horror stories about adults being victimized by anti-gun fanaticism, including the Washington, DC, man who got fined $1,000 for saving a child’s life and a British man who got arrested for finding a gun and turning it over to the police.
But I get more worried about the future of the country when I read reports of children being subjected to this kind of politically correct nonsense.
Consider, for instance, these absurd details from a local news report.
A Massachusetts kindergartener has been given detention and could be suspended from the bus after bringing a Lego-sized gun to school last week. …the incident happened on an Old Mill Pond Elementary School bus in Palmer last week. A 6-year-old had the toy gun, which is slightly larger than a quarter, on the bus and it was seen by another student, who alerted the bus driver. The boy’s mother, Mieke Crane, said her son had to write a letter of apology to the driver, was given detention and could be temporarily suspended from the bus.
Reading that passage, I don’t know whether to be more angry with the bratty tattle-tale kid who told the bus driver, or with the bus driver who obviously must have informed the school.
Both of them could use some serious counseling.
But that’s just part of the story.
The school sent home a letter to parents explaining what happened, stressing no gun was on the bus and there was never any danger. “(The driver) said he caused quite a disturbance on the bus and that the children were traumatized,” Crane told WGGB.
A letter to parents about a tiny plastic toy gun?!? Are the bureaucrats in this school so under-worked that they have time to waste on such nonsense? If I was a parent in this school district, I would put my kids in a private school.
Especially if it’s true that “children were traumatized” by a piece of Lego. I wouldn’t want to take the risk that wimpiness and poor cognitive skills could be transmitted by proximity to my kids (perhaps causing them to need “emotional support” animals in college).
By the way, this is not an isolated example. To get depressed about the future of the country, read these posts about children being exposed to foolish thinking.
- Bureaucrats suspended a little boy for taking bites out of a pop tart in such a way that it was shaped like a gun.
- Bureaucrats suspended a 7-year boy for pretending to throw a non-existent grenade on the playground.
- Bureaucrats suspended a 6-year old boy in Maryland for making a gun shape with his finger.
- Bureaucrats busted a 5-year old girl in Pennsylvania for having a pink plastic gun that shoots bubbles.
- A teacher in Rhode Island caught an 8-year old boy with some plastic toy army men.
- Bureaucrats evacuated a school because an 11-year old boy made a motion detector for his science experiment.
- Bureaucrats in Florida kicked an 8-year old boy out of school for a year because he had a plastic gun in his backpack.
- A dual award in Virginia, with half the prize for the bureaucrats who suspended a 10-year old boy for a toy gun and half the prize for the cops who then arrested the kid.
- A third-grader got in trouble for having toy army men on his birthday cupcakes.
- Two second-graders got suspended for holding pencils like they were guns.
Stories like this make me wonder whether I should emigrate, though the rest of the world tends to be in worse shape so the moral of the story is that we need to save the United States from the brainless (and overpaid) bureaucrats who are trying to ruin our children.
[…] Politicians and bureaucrats in cities and towns do lots of big things that are bad, such as creating massive unfunded liabilities, providing crappy schools, turning law enforcement into back-door tax collectors, and trying to turn children into wusses. […]

The bureaucrats don’t want people to be able to defend them selves, next they’ll try to say we can’t practice any form of martial arts! They want sheeple who just do as they are told, and if we do something soon they will get it! Though of course in a year or to we could just all move to Mexico sense they will be here! Gods I love my country! But I hate my government!
That’s interesting. Lately, in several different forums, I’m seeing the emasculation of men being sourced as the root problem of many issues in America. Whereas, I point to the use psychiatric pharmaceuticals as a form of stifling genius and maintaining control of the technocracy, other people (and they’re not wrong) have seen it as a control of society as a whole. My point was always that they would stop the next Tesla or Einstein from ever existing, but it appears to cut a wider swath than I imagined. Thanks froggy. As far as tattle tales, see something, say something. This all has it’s roots in both KGB and stasi tactics. I think Riley Freeman on ‘The Boondocks’ said it best, ‘No snitchin” Narcing on others may have started w/ the anti drug culture but the wider considerations of citizens monitoring moral and legal behavior of others that don’t pose an immediate threat to safety or property doesn’t lead anywhere good.
Older “real men” scare the day lights out of the Liberals because they know that real men will eventually take them out .Real men dont listen to all the spin ,they see through it and keep listening and watching until they have had enough and by their God given power of intellect and strength ,will take control and abolish the sickness that permeated the society by “Liberal Psychosis” which to the mind is equal to the bubonic plague of the body.
Reminds me of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in The Wall” Album. Boys are emasculated by the system .Boys are not allowed to be boys any more they must all be fatherless and on Drugs to control and eventually remove masculinity from society .The feminizing of young boys has been going on for a long time I see it every where .

[…] One reason the system is so expensive is that we squander so much money on bureaucratic overhead. But I guess we need all those paper pushers so we can stop little kids from engaging in terrorist behavior. […]
The goal with these actions is to create a generation that will not only embrace the removal of the second ammendment, but report their fellow ciizens who do not adhere to the law. Holy crap- if they were traumatized, they would have gone into a state of shock at some of the things my brothers and I did at school…

My guess is the kids were traumatized by the drivers reaction not the toy. After all, insanity is a scary thing to observe.
The schools are training a generation that will be ready and willing to surrender.
any political system is only as good as the people in it allow it to be… the morons running this system deserve to be fired…. traumatizing and frightening the children they are charged with educating is unconscionable… and we should give these fools more money for education………. yeah right…
Outrageous. The kids were actually traumatized by the bus driver’s action and then some more by the school’s letter, not by a harmless plastic toy!
The public schools are fulfilling the plans of John Dewey and the dictatorial state. This was the intent from the beginning.
John Dewey was a social planner and a still celebrated philosopher of the US public schools:
“Independent self-reliant people would be a counterproductive anachronism in the collective society of the future where people will be defined by their associations (1896).”
[ Restated: Who you know will be much more important than what you know in the socialist, planned world of the future. ]
“The children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society that is coming, where everyone would be interdependent (1899).”
[ Restated: We don’t want independent thinkers. A few smart children will be needed to run the society, from good families and trained in the private schools. Any excess from the public schools will merely spoil the social harmony by needlessly trying to change or oppose the scientific plans of the elite.]
Look at gun control as most politicians do.
A politician spends his time taking money from productive people, pocketing some, handing the rest to cronies and low-information voters, and lying about it. Despite the lies, many productive people know the truth and are furious.
Still, the productive people won’t shoot politicians, unless they go crazy. That is a very small probability, but an aging population is going to have a small fraction who go crazy, own a gun, and attend political meetings. Almost all politicians are cowardly criminals, not brave leaders taking risks for the public good.
A common criminal has no interest in shooting politicians. There is no upside, and there is professional courtesy. So, politicians feel no unusual need to disarm common criminals. Plus, disarming them is dangerous work. The police would rather arrest marijuana users and almost-legal gun owners.
Politicians know that guns are effective and useful by the peasants for self-defense. However, there are so many peasants that losing a few doesn’t matter.
Even children are expendable. Armed teachers would end school mass shootings, but it would also make guns acceptable over time. These are the peasant’s children, who must learn that guns are evil and should not be owned by peasants, and they should look to government for their entire protection and meaning in their lives.
There is no equivalent rule for the children of politicians. They can own guns, and armed men protect them. They are not likely to shoot politicians, being themselves future politicians.
Politicians will always own guns, because they need protection from the people. People get upset when they vote for promises which are broken. Politicians are in the business of making promises, being elected, and breaking those promises. We are headed for the biggest promise-breaking era in history. Never have so many depended on government promises. Their beliefs will soon be dashed against reality.
The kids who were freaked out and traumatized by a toy gun should get in trouble, not the kid with the toy. Seriously, who is more dangerous: a kid with a toy gun the size of a lego, or a group of kids who panic when they see a toy gun?
In my opinion, the tattle tale who ran off and caused the commotion in the first place is the only trouble maker in this story. Snitches get stitches!

I have a friend who swore that his sons would never have or play with toy guns. Until he observed them pretending to shoot each other with bananas.
Why don’t they just put a sign out front of the school that says “no boys allowed, only girls(the snooty ones that don’t play with pays) and little wussies allowed” Then down the street a school that allows boys to be boys and girls to play with boys or girls. Or here is a strange idea, lets hire intelligent people to run our schools
“Education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of their lives of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school masters would have wished …
— Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762-1814) German philosopher
We are getting what the Prussian schools wanted.
