I don’t agree with the editorializing that was added above this cartoon. I’ve always been partial to the welfare-dependency-wagon cartoons produced by a former Cato intern.
And readers have made this cartoon the most-viewed post in the history of this blog.
Nonetheless, this is definitely worth sharing.
The last line, though, is exactly right. For all intents and purposes, government is legalized plunder.

Quite good except that the government is only legitimized crime, never organized.
I recall reducing my father to helpless laughter in the 70s while watch the evening news. It was announced some businessman had been arrested for mail fraud. I turned to my father baffled and said, “I thought only congressmen got arrested for that.”
