Sorry for commenting so much, but I made some errors yesterday and they must be corrected. These are the songs from the 20th century -or before- that made it to the TOP 100 YouTube “Most viewed All Time – Music” http://www.youtube.com/charts/videos_views/music?t=t
Nr 28 Kaoma – Lambada (1989, Brazil)
Nr 32 guitar (The guy plays the Pachelbel Canon which is from the 1600s)
Nr 38 Aerosmith – I don’t want to miss a thing (Armageddon soundtrack, 1998, USA)
Nr 41 – Paul Potts sings Nessum Dorma (1926 – Puccini/Alfano – Italian Opera )
Nr 84 – Pink Floyd – Wish you were here (1975, United Kingdom)
Nr 86 – Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody (1975, United Kingdom)
Nr 98 – Old Mc Donald had a farm (traditional, date and author unknown, published in 1917)
The Ayn Rand film looks very disappointing. We libertarians have on our side THE BEST of the human soul and this movie apparently never uses it. Allowing people to be free without harming others is allowing the best of the human soul while impeding the bad. Someone that says that his only goal is making money cannot be the hero of a mainstream philosophy. Compassion is the most important feeling for human convivence. The “hero” here says that his only goal is making money. If he is ruthless in pursuing that goal then he cannot be a mainstream hero.
Being libertarian does not mean lacking compassion. If you allow people to work freely then there would be no poor excepting some pathological cases that would be helped by private sector charity. We do not need the political class “compassion” which in fact is not compassion but a “justification” for even more power and control and $trillions for a political class that uses people as objects to satisfy their vice for power, control and $trillions in taxes.
Mr. Dan Mitchell posted here an humor essay where they showed how boring life would be in the “politically correct” (PC) world were people are FORCED to live to worship incredibly dull, boring and arrogant bureaucrats and politicians and where anything really exciting and many of the best of the human soul is forbidden by the political class. The hero was called Winston, as in 1984. That essay was PURE GENIUS.
But in this movie trailer none of such “politically incorrect” genius can be seen. There is not even humour or a flaming personal relationship that can be put in contrast with the incredibly dull and enslaving PC society.
Armageddon (a 1998 movie), for instance, was a MASTERPIECE of political incorrectness. Those who save the world in that movie are OIL DRILLERS (!!) the most demonized people in the “politically correct” Global Warming hoax. I think even the United Nations building was hit by a meteor! (but my memory may fail) And the ones that saved the world were very individualistic private sector trained oil drillers, who were much more efficient than the trained -at a cost of $billions- socialist NASA bureaucrats. And, of course, if the DIKTAT of the bureaucracy had been followed then there would have been TOTAL world destruction, not even bacteria would have survived!. And, what those oilmen-saviors asked for themselves was NOT HAVING TO PAY TAXES FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES!
We know that love between parents and children is VERY “politically incorrect” because the PC society needs to brainwash children through public education in order to force them to worship politicians and bureaucrats and respect and love for parents is particularily damaging for such goals. Dictatorships may go much farther, they must want to turn children into souless cold KILLING & DYING machines that will give even more power and control to mass murderer dictators (like Stalin and Hitler)
Well, Armageddon showed one of the most beautiful father (Bruce Willis) – daughter (Liv Tyler) relationships ever put on film. And Liv Tyler is blazing hot and beautiful and only a heartless man cannot fall a little for her while watching the movie. And Ben Affleck -Liv Tyler’s boyfiriend- is a hot for the ladies. My favorite one was the extremely beautiful latin american stripper “Molly Mounds” ( which in fact was an extremely beautiful & attractive 100% US girl called Layla Roberts)
When Bruce Willis dies saving the world all the images that come to his mind are images of his daughter Liv Tyler. That is among the best that I have ever seen on film. And the singer from Aerosmith is Liv Tyler’s dad and he made the Armageddon song for his daughter. Only 4 or 5 songs from the 20th century made the YouTube top 100, 3 of them are from the latin world. Armageddon movie theme and a song by anti political class Pink Floyd is one of those very few english songs of the 20th century that made the top 100. Socialist arrogant rock is on its death path, but perhaps the love of the Aerosmith singer for his daughter made a masterpiece that is among the preferred of the human race.
Armageddon was not very succesful, but it has grown in stature as time goes by. Sadly they put too much of those “saving the world at the last half of a second” scenes, but apart that, it do is a masterpiece. I think we libertarians should learn from Armageddon
In previous posts I tlaked about Latin American soaps, in fact I was talking about South American soaps like the colombian Pasion de Gavilanes that became the most watched series in history after Gilligan’s island. Mexico is very different from South America but US citizens tend to think that South America and Mexico are the same.
The movie, in order to comply with Latin American standards, should have featured that extremely attractive hindou girl that appears in some of Dan Mitchell’s videos.
Seems a very good movie. In Latin America EVERY soap has several actresses with whom you can fall in love for the lenght of the movie / TV show.
This seems like a movie from co2 demonizer James Cameron: No actress to fall in love with for 90 minutes. James Cameron even took Jessica Alba, one of the hottest in Hollywood, and made her cold and almost unattractive in Dark Angel.
The actress is kind and beautiful and I know many will be displeased with my comment but you need a flaming love story to keep the interest going on. Maybe the dude is a hot with the girls, I do not know, but the girl is like an actress in a James Cameron movie: Beautiful, but you will never fall in love with her.
Yeah. Me too. Thx.
