When Obama argued the other day that he favored higher taxes and more redistribution because of his Christian beliefs, I was tempted to repeat something I wrote last year to draw the distinction between private charity and government coercion.
I’m glad I resisted temptation, because I received a much more entertaining response in my inbox today. Enjoy this rewrite of Psalm 23.

Psalm 2012
Obama Is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me
Beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party’s sake.
Yea, Though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has Anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.

Given the shortcomings of Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney, I don’t like the part of about restoring “faith in the Republican Party.”
But that’s nit-picking. Kudos to the person who put this together. Very well done.

“Let’s blame Obama for the Bush Bailouts 101. ”
That sucking sound you hear is your job Going Thru Mexico to China — According to the Law of the Invisible Hand and Free Markets! If American jobs were in Mexico then our immigration problem would be solved and we could migrate there for work, after all it builds character to wander in the wilderness, suffer & struggle just like Moses in Egypt, what 5k years ago?
Free market, reminds me — that Ayn Rand was not happy in Russia and she died even unhappier in America Land of the Free — striving for the pot gold that apparently somebody denied her.
PS: i say a prayer for you and yours’ good fortune according to the Religion of Prosperity…. .
[…] On the lighter side, here is a fun rewrite of Psalm 23. […]
He was annointed with oil – A whole Gulf full!
I always wonder how Social-Gospel Christanists get around “Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Goods.”
Seven years of fat, seven years of lean. Gee, it’s almost like this has happened before. Except we can understand what causes the fat and the lean. We have people in place that want to redistribute the fat, which causes the lean. Uh oh.
