You don’t enjoy many victories when you fight for liberty, so I’m not averse to spiking the football on those rare occasions when we win.
That’s why I shared this very funny cartoon last week to celebrate Obama’s belly flop on gun control.
Now we have another cartoon, this one by Henry Payne, mocking the Administration’s shameful effort to force a tax increase by deliberately making air travel less convenient.
No wonder the President is behaving in such a petulant fashion. The sequester is an embarrassing defeat for Obama and other proponents of bigger government.
He thought he could bully Republicans into a class-warfare tax hike. Now he’s resorting to pathetic gimmicks.
And he lost on that issue now that Congress has made explicit that the FAA has authority to reallocate funds.
Let’s not just spike the football. Let’s do a dance in the end zone.
Use proper disability etiquette and basic manners. Don’t assume a person desires or needs help; persons with disabilities have likely been coping with various tasks for NfJQpbcwWYEs some time. If it’s your policy to ask every person if they have to have help, that is excellent. Otherwise, wait to be asked. Then, don’t go beyond the request.

Iím not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your blogs really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back later. All the best
This issue is that the FAA has been sitting on a quarter of a million dollars in non-allocated funds … how did that happen! For what were those funds originally intended? How could that much money accumulate within a government agency without being used and without affecting future budget requests?! The bottom line is that the FAA had the necessary funding to avert sequester “disasters” and Congress ordered them to use it … And this raises a more important question; what other government agencies have stockpiled funds of which we are unaware?
I’d be happy to see the gov’t cut funding for the FAA if they would allow private organizations to provide an alternative service. But — correct me if I’m wrong — that would be illegal. Planes are required by law to get clearance from the FAA to take off.

The PR stunts are going to continue.

“Automatic Cuts Lead to Canceled Air Shows”
Although libertarians may question if the government should be spending money to be in air shows, obviously the point is they are going to continue prioritizing cuts to be publicly visible things. There was a recent story about “fleet week” in NYC being canceled also. Again, we may object to that spending but when there are myriad other things to cut it seems questionable to focus on ones that are PR stunts.
(Though in the case of fleet week, we object to the scope of the military, but I don’t know now how much the feds spend on this vs. simply timing leave appropriately, and all employers do spend money on workforce morale, so while a military exists, some spending on morale boosters seems appropriate).
