At the start of the year, I predicted Obama would be reelected, largely because of my assumption that the unemployment rate would drop below 8 percent.
But my prediction on jobs is looking quite shaky, so this discussion about the economy and the election with Fox Business News is very timely.
I argued, unsurprisingly, that the economy is anemic because Obama’s been pursuing an agenda of wasteful spending and class warfare.
So if he loses, he has nobody to blame but himself.
That doesn’t mean Romney would be an improvement, especially if the warning signs are correct and he saddles the country with a value-added tax, so the American people may be tossed from one frying pan to another.
P.S. Hadley Heath may look familiar because she narrated this video about the damaging impact of welfare programs for the Center for Freedom and Prosperity.
P.P.S. On the completely separate topic of the Greek elections, I am more peeved than ever that the idiots in the media are reporting the results as a victory for the pro-bailout parties over the anti-bailout parties. That is nonsense. All the parties favored bailouts. As I wrote earlier this year, the election was a fight between parties that want no-strings bailout money and parties that at least pretend they are willing to implement reforms as a condition of getting bailout money.
President Obama got 39% in Arkansas in 2008 and he will hold strong at 30% this time around. Meanwhile our House of Representatives would have gone from less than 25 members to taken over power in Arkansas with over 50 members this November (currently we have 46). The Senate will flip too. Meanwhile Senator Mark Pryor will be defeated in 2014 for sure and there will be no more Democrats representing Arkansas in Washington for many years to come. The only reason Pryor was elected in 2008 was because Republicans were scared to take him one since Hillary was going to be elected president in 2008 and no one wanted to go against her coattails. (What a miscalculation there.)
Keep up the good work Dan. I have posted hundreds of your articles and in the last twelve months my website has got over 300,000 hits. Pretty good for a new guy like me. Milton Friedman is gone but I feel his message is going on with you.
[…] Will the Economy Sink Obama in November? […]
Obama still believes that the economic downturn was caused by tax cuts and less regulations. People like him hold to these views because they do not seem to be as well informed. I wish this video could be shown to him, and with elaboration of all the facts mentioned here. Obama and the likes should not be allowed to broadcast misinformation with confidence.
Between the economy, the lies, the submissive attitude towards muslims, and the spending. There should be no question that Obama is done in November. He will try to lie, cheat and steal the election. Makes one wonder why Holder the dog hunter is sueing every state trying to clean up the election process.
