The saddest thing is that many of our younger readers and those who write for them do not even know they have been indoctrinated. They really think they have made their own decisions to be liberal left-wing propaganda machines. These are the ones who join our president in crying out against Fox News and wanting to see it shut down. The principle of a free press is troubling to many because they do not know what to do with an idea that is outside their box. Did you ever think the idea of cutting taxes could be sold to an American public as a "bad idea" and over-spending accepted as the "answer" to our economic problems? It is up-side-down thinking, but it has been sold because the propaganda machines know how to sell it. It is frightening to real economists because it never works, but they are no longer heard. Using phrases such as "balanced approach", "fair share", and "seeing that the rich do their part" have been so entrenched into many people's minds they have forgotten that Congress raised taxes on the "rich" last year and that this did not satisfy the appetite of the left in any way or those who never get enough or spend enough. They need to read the "Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire."

Dear PHA Worker:

According to your post, “With sequester, HUD is saying they will be paying out 69% of that rate.”

Why is HUD “saying” that? Could it possibly be that they want to reduce services in as visible and painful a manner as possible, for political purposes?

We know that the sequester involves only smaller increases, not actual cuts, so their budget for next year will actually RISE over the current year. Why, with an increased budget, should they be “forced” to make this kind of reduction? If the current management can’t run the program effectively with an increased budget over last year, let’s can them and get people in there who can do the job.

This is a perfect example of a deliberate attempt to hurt the public with unnecessary cuts in service in order to score political points. It’s reprehensible, and the people involved ought to be fired.

"Why can’t some Rep and Conservative( I know) groups pool some money and buy some billboards across the country with just this graph. It basically makes the argument in one picture. Why make the argument so hard?"

Because roughly 47% of the voters aren't capable of comprehending even this simple a graph?
